Funding & Employer Commitment:
Your Sales Executive Apprentice should have protected time within their working week to focus on apprenticeship learning and development. Off-the-job training gives them the opportunity to strengthen their sales knowledge, professional skills and behaviours away from their normal day-to-day duties. You can learn more about off-the-job training here.
Employers also play an important part in turning that learning into workplace experience. Providing regular coaching, constructive feedback and opportunities to take part in genuine sales activity will help the apprentice build confidence, demonstrate their developing abilities and complete the requirements of their programme.
Training costs can be supported through the apprenticeship funding system. Levy-paying employers can use available levy funds, while eligible non-levy employers can receive government support towards training and assessment. Under the 2026 funding arrangements, eligible apprentices aged 16–24 can be fully funded up to the funding band maximum, with qualifying non-levy employers also able to receive a £2,000 hiring payment for new apprentices aged 16–24 from October 2026.
