Funding & Employer Commitment:
A successful Recruiter Apprentice needs the right balance of workplace experience and structured learning. Employers must provide protected off-the-job training time, enabling the apprentice to step away from their usual responsibilities and focus on developing new recruitment knowledge, techniques and professional behaviours. Find out more about off-the-job training here.
Your organisation should also provide access to real recruitment activity, from candidate attraction and screening through to stakeholder communication and onboarding. Regular check-ins, coaching and feedback will help the apprentice build confidence, demonstrate their progress and complete the requirements of their programme.
If your organisation pays the Apprenticeship Levy, eligible training can be funded from your levy account. Non-levy employers may receive government support towards apprenticeship training, including 2026 arrangements such as full funding for eligible apprentices under 25 and incentives of up to £2,000 for recruiting apprentices aged 16–24.
