Meet Rebecca Rivett: Professional Tutor at Swarm Training

Finding My Purpose Through Experience

Hi, I’m Rebecca Rivett, although most people know me simply as Bex. I joined Swarm in 2019 as a professional Tutor after realising that the variety of work and life experiences I’d collected over the years had given me something incredibly valuable—the ability to relate, to guide, and to inspire others who might be feeling unsure of their direction.

Before joining Swarm, I had worked in several jobs across a range of sectors. Each role taught me something different, yet I still hadn’t found the position that felt like my calling. What I didn’t realise at the time was that all this variety was gently shaping me into exactly the kind of person who would thrive in the training and education sector.

Understanding What It Means to Feel ‘Stuck’

Looking back, those early years were full of learning moments. Moving through different roles helped me understand what it feels like to be “stuck” or unsure of where to go next. It taught me how impactful the right guidance can be.

When you’re in a job that doesn’t quite fit, or when confidence is low, sometimes the smallest bit of encouragement can change everything. Because I didn’t have many people in my early life who recognised or nurtured my potential, I became determined to be that supportive voice for others.

Why Inspiring Others Matters to Me

School wasn’t a place where I felt inspired or encouraged. I didn’t have anyone pushing me to explore what I could become. That absence stayed with me—and ultimately shaped my passion today.

It’s one of the main reasons I’m dedicated to helping learners of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. I want to be the person I wish I’d had when I was younger: someone who sparks confidence, belief and a sense of direction in people who may be doubting themselves.

Joining Swarm: Where Everything Clicked

When I joined Swarm, everything suddenly made sense. For the first time in my career, I felt like I was part of something meaningful. As a Tutor, I could work closely with learners, guiding them through their qualifications and watching them grow both personally and professionally.

There’s something incredibly special about seeing someone gain confidence, rediscover their strengths and start believing in themselves again. Those moments reminded me why I wanted to do this work—and they still do.

Stepping Into Leadership

Fast forward several years, and my journey at Swarm has evolved even further. I’m now part of the Senior Leadership Team, a role that allows me to contribute in new and rewarding ways.

While I may not work as closely with learners on a day-to-day basis anymore, I now have the privilege of supporting our amazing Tutors—helping them deliver high-quality training and giving them the tools they need to make a real difference.

Empowering Learners of All Ages

Being in the leadership team also means I can help shape the environment our learners experience. My goal is that every single person who comes through Swarm leaves with more than just a qualification.

I want them to leave with confidence, hope, motivation and a genuine belief that they can achieve their goals—no matter their age, background or previous experience.

Proud of the Journey, Excited for What’s Ahead

My career hasn’t followed a straight line, but every twist and turn has shaped who I am today. I’m proud of the path that brought me to Swarm, proud of the work we do, and grateful that I now get to help others move forward—especially those who may feel as stuck as I once did.
