Funding & Employer Commitment:
Employers need to set aside 20% of the apprentice’s working time for off-the-job learning. This protected development time enables the apprentice to build the marketing knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed to contribute effectively to your organisation. You can find out more about off-the-job training here.
Throughout the Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship, employers should provide suitable supervision, guidance and mentoring. Giving the apprentice opportunities to work on real marketing activity will help them apply their learning in the workplace and gather the evidence required to complete their portfolio to the expected standard.
Organisations that pay the apprenticeship levy can use their levy funds towards eligible training costs. Non-levy-paying employers may also be able to access government support, including incentives announced for 2026 such as full funding for eligible apprentices under 25 and payments of up to £2,000 for businesses recruiting apprentices aged 16–24.
