Event Assistant Bootcamps

What is a skills bootcamp?

Skills bootcamps are short programmes delivered in partnership with employers and are designed to give learners practical, job-ready skills in key industries. They quickly prepare people for real roles, whether they are just starting out or looking to upskill.

Our Event Assistant Bootcamps offer 10 weeks of hands-on learning tailored to the needs of the events sector and organisations wanting skilled event staff. At the end of the programme every bootcamp graduate will have a CV with a live portfolio of work, ready for interview.

The Event Assistant Bootcamp helps to solve many staffing challenges experienced in the industry today by:

  • Preparing job-ready candidates who understand event operations.

  • Reducing recruitment costs and onboarding time.

  • Embedding best practice in sustainability, compliance and accessibility.

  • Opening pathways for people in the local region to get employment in the sector.

Employer opportunities

Employer partnerships are crucial to the success of Skills Bootcamps in a number of ways. Firstly, by having the opportunity to contribute to bootcamp development and delivery, ensuring learners are taught a relevant curriculum, and also by providing access to short placements and job opportunities. In turn, employers get access to candidates who understand events from the get-go, without costly recruitment fees.

Funding is available to employers who refer existing employees to bootcamps for upskilling:

  • SMEs: 90% government funding, 10% employer contribution

  • Larger businesses: 70% government funding, 30% employer contribution.

There are several ways employers can partner with us and benefit from the bootcamps :

  • Refer an employee

  • Be a guest speaker

  • Set a live project

  • Host a short placement

  • Interview bootcamp graduates
