Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship
A Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship will develop a more commercial mindset, understand the needs of the business and think creatively in helping to develop the customer-focused area of the business.
They will provide professional and direct customer support within their organisation, easily adapting their skills to provide the same service for any sector and organisation type. The Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship provides apprentices with the knowledge and skills to deal with more complex or technical customer requests, including complaints and more advanced queries. They will usually be the point of escalation for more junior staff where the situation is more complicated or ongoing.

Funding & Employer Commitment:
Employers have an important role in helping a Customer Service Specialist Apprentice develop into a confident service professional. Part of their working time must be protected for off-the-job training, giving them dedicated opportunities to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours beyond their normal duties. Find out more about off-the-job training here.
Back in the workplace, apprentices should be encouraged to take on increasingly challenging customer situations, learn from feedback and explore ways to improve service delivery. Regular mentoring and support from your team will help them apply their training and build the evidence required throughout their apprenticeship.
Training costs may be covered through your Apprenticeship Levy if your organisation pays into it. Eligible non-levy employers can also receive government support, including 2026 funding arrangements such as full funding for eligible apprentices under 25 and incentives of up to £2,000 when recruiting apprentices aged 16–24.
