Funding & Employer Commitment:
Employers must provide apprentices with 20% of their working time for off-the-job development. This protected learning time gives the apprentice the opportunity to build the analytical, technical and professional capabilities needed to perform effectively within your organisation. Find out more about off-the-job training here.
For a Business Analyst Apprenticeship, employers should also provide access to suitable workplace projects, guidance and mentoring. Giving the apprentice opportunities to work with real business information, processes and stakeholders will help them apply their learning and work towards completing their portfolio and final project report to the required standard.
Levy-paying organisations can use their apprenticeship levy funds towards eligible training costs. Employers who do not pay the levy may also be able to access government funding and incentives, including the 2026 measures offering full funding for eligible apprentices under 25 and up to £2,000 for businesses recruiting apprentices aged 16–24.
