An Associate Project Manager apprenticeship is designed to apply to a wide range of sectors, business sizes, and working environments. These may apply to being on-site, office-based, with a client or a contractor or working remotely. Apprentices contribute to the successful delivery of projects, ensuring their scope and benefits are achieved as planned. This is primarily achieved by identifying, resourcing, scheduling and monitoring the activities that need to happen in a certain sequence and timescale.

Apprenticeship Outcomes:
As their experience develops, apprentices will be able to:
Plan projects, defining objectives, scope, activities, milestones, and timescales.
Coordinate delivery of projects, organising tasks, resources and people to keep projects on track.
Prepare accurate property information and marketing materials
Monitor progress of projects, tracking performance, deadlines, costs, and deliverables against the project plan.
Manage risks and issues, identifying potential problems, assessing their impact, and supporting appropriate solutions.
Control project information, maintaining accurate documentation, records, and reports.
Build effective relationships and communicate with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
Monitor project expenditure, ensuring resources are used effectively and on budget.
Apply appropriate digital systems, methodologies, and techniques to support project delivery.
Review and improve projects by evaluating outcomes, identifying lessons learned, and continuing to strive for improvement.
Funding & Employer Commitment:
An Associate Project Manager apprentice needs 20% of their working time dedicated to off-the-job learning. This protected time gives them space to develop project management knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours alongside their workplace responsibilities. Employers should provide employees on the Associate Project Manager apprenticeship with suitable project-based experience, guidance and regular feedback. Working alongside experienced colleagues gives them the opportunity to apply their learning to real projects, develop their confidence and work towards completing their portfolio to the required standard.
If your organisation pays the apprenticeship levy, available funds can be used towards eligible training costs. Non-levy-paying employers may also be eligible for government support, including 2026 incentives such as full funding for eligible apprentices under 25 and up to £2,000 for employers recruiting apprentices aged 16–24.
